First in Solutions and NW Family Group are recruiting a bilingual (English / Spanish) Staff or Senior Tax Analyst to sit with our Medellín, Colombia team and support a U.S.-based multi-state retail energy company. The role reports to the client’s Director of Tax in the United States.
This is a U.S. tax role, not a Colombian tax role. You will work U.S. federal, state, and local tax rules for a company that sells electricity and natural gas to residential and commercial customers across multiple U.S. states. You must already be familiar with — or ready to work daily in — United States tax law, U.S. sales and use tax, multi-state compliance, and U.S. income tax provision concepts.
English fluency is required. All work product, research memos, workpapers, emails, and calls with the U.S. Director of Tax and U.S. stakeholders are in English. Spanish is needed for the Medellín office and day-to-day team coordination.



This seat is only a fit for a truly bilingual candidate.
Staff and Senior are both in play. If you are earlier in your career and the degree, Excel, recon, research, English fluency, and deadline ownership are there, prior tax years can be waived. Prior U.S. tax coursework, U.S. multi-state sales/use work, or experience supporting a U.S. company from Colombia is a strong plus.

About the role
You will own (or review) multi-state U.S. indirect tax compliance and help keep taxability, rates, and jurisdiction mapping accurate in the client’s billing systems. A smaller slice of the job supports U.S. federal and state income tax provision work.

Split is roughly:
• 75–80% U.S. sales, use, utility users’, and gross receipts tax
• 20–25% U.S. income tax support (ASC 740 data, apportionment, estimates, extensions, annual reports)
