Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in the BPO industry
- Experience in a healthcare or medical office setting, highly preferred
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance policies, patient eligibility verification, and healthcare billing practices
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach to service
- Demonstrated accountability and professionalism
Responsibilities
- Answer patient calls and respond to inquiries about appointments, insurance coverage, billing, eligibility, and procedure codes.
- Schedule appointments and provide patients with general information about their care.
- Explain insurance benefits, including copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and coverage details.
- Verify insurance information and coordinate with insurers to support accurate billing.
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
- Route medication refill requests, referrals, and other telephone encounters to providers, and follow up promptly.
- Document insurance information, appointments, and patient communications accurately in the EHR system.
- Address patient concerns, promote comfort, and help patients understand healthcare processes.
