Senior Project Manager

Role Summary

WSP is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, delivery, and overall management of major infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage complex stakeholder relationships, ensure contractual compliance, and deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This position requires extensive experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, including projects exceeding USD 400 million in value, as well as demonstrated leadership in integrated project environments and international project delivery.

Responsibilities

- Lead the overall management and delivery of major infrastructure projects from planning through commissioning.
- Provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary engineering, construction, quality, commercial, and project controls teams.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, including FIDIC-based contracts and other internationally recognized contracting frameworks.
- Manage project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives.
- Direct project governance activities, reporting, and stakeholder engagement with clients, contractors, government agencies, and project partners.
- Coordinate integrated project teams across multiple disciplines and geographic locations.
- Oversee project performance and implement corrective actions when required.
- Lead commercial and contractual discussions, change management processes, and claims resolution.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with senior leadership, clients, and key stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of health, safety, quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement throughout project execution.
- Mentor and develop project management and engineering personnel.
- Support business development activities, proposals, and strategic pursuits related to major infrastructure projects.





Qualifications / Skills / Competencies

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration, Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent professional licensing in the country of origin.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent internationally recognized project management certification.
- Minimum 20 years of professional experience in the planning, design, management, and execution of major infrastructure projects.
- More than 30 years of experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as Senior Project Manager on at least two comparable major infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience managing projects with construction values exceeding USD 400 million.
- Experience working with integrated project delivery teams and multidisciplinary project environments.
- Experience leading projects outside the candidate's home country and working in multicultural project settings.
- Strong understanding of project governance, project controls, construction management, risk management, procurement, and contract administration.
- Extensive knowledge of FIDIC contracts or equivalent international standards.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage complex infrastructure programs involving multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines.
- Experience in transportation, tunneling, rail, highways, bridges, or other major infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

- Previous experience serving as Senior Project Manager on large transportation or tunneling projects.
- Experience supervising Senior Design Managers, Quality Assurance Managers, and Lead Technical Specialists.
- International project delivery experience in consulting or EPC environments.
- Proven track record leading projects with multinational teams and complex stakeholder interfaces.
