HVAC Estimator – Residential New Construction

Central Heating & Cooling is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Estimator to join our growing team.

Position Overview

The HVAC Estimator will prepare accurate HVAC estimates for new residential construction projects using Wrightsoft software. This position works closely with builders, project managers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure estimates are complete, accurate, competitive, and aligned with project specifications and company standards.

This role requires proficiency with Wrightsoft, daily Zoom calls, and real-time communication during our North Carolina business hours.

Work Schedule and Communication Requirements

- Professional-level English fluency is required.
- Candidates must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English confidently and accurately.
- Candidates must communicate effectively in English during live Zoom calls without relying on translation tools.
- Daily Zoom calls and real-time communication with our team are required.
- Candidates must be available to work during our North Carolina business hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
- These requirements are essential for communicating with builders, vendors, project managers, and internal team members throughout the workday.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate HVAC estimates for residential new construction projects using Wrightsoft.
- Review blueprints, floor plans, specifications, and construction documents.




- Use Wrightsoft to perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, and related project calculations.
- Perform material takeoffs and labor calculations.
- Generate complete proposals and bid packages for builders and general contractors.
- Coordinate with project managers, purchasing, and field operations to ensure a smooth transition from awarded projects to production.
- Communicate with builders, contractors, vendors, and internal teams regarding project scope, revisions, and pricing.
- Participate in daily Zoom calls and remain available for real-time communication during business hours.
- Maintain organized project files, estimating documentation, and bid records.
- Identify value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining company quality standards.
- Stay current on equipment pricing, building codes, manufacturer requirements, and industry trends.
- Manage multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Qualifications

- Professional-level spoken and written English is required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English during live conversations and Zoom meetings without translation assistance.
- Availability to work during Central Heating & Cooling’s North Carolina business hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
- Proficiency with Wrightsoft software is required.
- Experience using Wrightsoft for residential HVAC load calculations,



equipment sizing, and estimating.
- Previous HVAC estimating experience is preferred; residential new construction experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Knowledge of residential HVAC systems, duct layouts, equipment sizing, and installation methods.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while collaborating with multiple departments.
- Strong communication skills and close attention to detail.
- Reliable internet access and the ability to participate professionally in daily Zoom calls.
