We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with 4-5 years of hands-on experience to join the infrastructure team on a hybrid basis in Colombia. The DBA will be responsible for the design, implementation, performance tuning , and ongoing maintenance of critical relational databases that support the company’s core applications and services. This role reports to the Lead Infrastructure Engineer and works closely with development, security , and operations teams to ensure data reliability, security, and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, install, configure, and maintain relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
- Monitor database performance, conduct tuning, and resolve bottlenecks to meet SLA targets. Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery strategies.
- Ensure database security through role-based access control, encryption, and regular audits. Perform capacity planning and scaling activities to support growth.
- Develop and maintain database scripts, automation, and documentation.




- Collaborate with application developers to optimize queries and support release cycles.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 incident response when needed. Stay current with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.

Job Requirements

- 4-5 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment. Advanced English proficiency (C1) for clear communication with integral teams.
- Strong expertise in at least two major RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server). Proven track record in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
- Experience with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
