Job Description: Business Operations Specialist

About the Role

The Business Operations Specialist is integral to the Business Operations & Strategy team, responsible for modernizing financial and operational processes at Zillow Group. This position focuses on automation and data analytics to enhance overall efficiency. The specialist will drive financial planning workflows while creating systems for future transformation. Collaboration is key in this role, with close partnerships with finance, accounting, and engineering teams. By providing financial insights and spearheading high-priority initiatives, you will have a direct impact on decision‑making and operational performance across multiple organizations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage annual budgeting and forecasting processes across various departments.
- Lead monthly and quarterly reforecasting cycles to align with business priorities.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams on accruals, reporting, and updates to financial systems (e.g., Anaplan).
- Utilize AI tools to streamline financial operations and design automated forecasting workflows.
- Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and implement automation initiatives.
- Develop scalable reporting and dashboards using BI tools to provide visibility into budgets and operational performance.
- Lead high-priority projects, ensuring alignment and execution across teams.
- Actively participate in problem-solving and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior leaders.

Required Skills





- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business operations, financial operations, or analytics.
- Active user of AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) with an aptitude for elevating operational workflows.
- Strong proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau) for data reporting and analytics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to travel nationally approximately 10-15% of the time.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with financial planning tools like Anaplan.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems, such as Workday.
- Experience in building financial models and supporting budgeting/forecasting processes.
- Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira).
- Background in corporate real estate or finance operations.
