We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to spearhead a GCP-based data platform initiative. This role centers on leading the design, development, and evolution of data pipelines and analytics infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, shaping a scalable and reliable data ecosystem that fuels reporting and analytics across the organization. As a technical leader, you will guide a team of data engineers, set best practices, and serve as the key technical authority on the platform.ResponsibilitiesLead the architecture, design, and implementation of data pipelines leveraging Dataflow on GCPDefine standards and drive the development and optimization of data models and queries within BigQueryOversee the design and support of reporting and analytics layers powered by Looker (or similar BI tooling)Own the technical direction and evolution of the broader GCP Data PlatformEstablish and enforce data governance best practices, covering access controls, data quality, lineage, and documentation across pipelines and datasetsMentor and guide data engineers, performing code reviews and fostering technical growth within the teamPartner with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership to convert business and data requirements into scalable technical solutions and long-term roadmapsSet up monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting practices to safeguard data pipeline performance and reliabilityDrive technical decision-making, assess new tools and technologies,
