Job purpose

The Supply and Logistics Assistant is responsible for supporting the uninterrupted supply of affordable, good quality goods and services, adapted to the specific context, by adhering to UNICEF's policies, procedures, and ethical standards. This role is crucial for ensuring that UNICEF can effectively deliver on its mission to protect the rights of every child and help them reach their full potential, especially the most vulnerable and excluded.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for the Supply and Logistics Assistant include managing procurement and contracting processes, overseeing in-country logistics, ensuring efficient warehousing and inventory management, and exploring alternative delivery mechanisms and procurement services. This involves coordinating with vendors, tracking shipments, managing deliveries, forecasting supply needs, and analyzing data to inform decision-making. The role also requires managing warehouse operations and contributing to other related functions as needed to ensure the smooth and effective supply chain operations for UNICEF's programs in Colombia.

Education

Secondary education is required.



A first-level university degree (bachelor's degree) in a relevant field such as supply chain, business administration, contract/commercial law, or industrial engineering can substitute for three years of related work experience. A master's degree can substitute for an additional two years of experience.

Work experience

A minimum of five years of relevant administrative experience in supply chain management or a commercial environment is required. A first-level university degree in a relevant field can substitute for three years of experience, and a master's degree can substitute for an additional two years.
