Description

Intermediate Landscape Architect – Technical Production, 3D Modeling, Plans, Details, Specifications, and VisualizationKey ResponsibilitiesLandscape Architecture Technical Production

- Produce technical landscape architecture plans at all project stages: site layout plans, grading plans, planting plans, furniture layouts, and material plans.
- Develop construction details and section drawings (pavements, curbs, retaining walls, planting pits, surface drainage) according to high-quality standards.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and measurements to support cost estimates.
- Apply WSP drawing standards, standard specifications, and client requirements from Quebec municipalities and project owners.
- Contribute to the preparation of tender documents (drawing packages, title blocks, nomenclature, planting schedules).
- Contribute to the preparation of descriptive technical specifications (materials, plantings, site furniture, construction methods) in addition to WSP standard specifications.
- Update plans based on review comments and maintain version control of drawing packages.
- Verify consistency between plans, sections, details, and 3D models within the same project.

Modeling and Design

- Produce conceptual sketches, either hand-drawn or digital, to quickly communicate design intent before proceeding to 3D modeling.
- Develop 3D models of site development concepts (public spaces, plazas, parks, complete streets, station surroundings, real estate developments) based on sketches and direction from Quebec-based designers.
- Produce and maintain Revit models and BIM deliverables in compliance with WSP templates, naming conventions, and levels of detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, including landscape architecture-oriented plugins (environmental applications), with knowledge of Dynamo, Grasshopper, or similar scripting tools.
- Ensure geometric coordination between landscape architecture models and other disciplines.

Visualization

- Produce presentation-quality perspectives, aerial views, perspective sections, and photomontages for competitions, proposals, and public presentations.
- Create renderings that illustrate landscaping, lighting, urban furniture, and site usage across different seasons.
- Prepare simple animations, fly-through sequences, or before-and-after visualizations when required for public consultation projects.
- Manage and enrich libraries of entourage elements (vegetation, furniture, users, textures, materials) adapted to the Quebec context.

Graphic Design and Deliverable Production

- Produce presentation plans, sections, elevations, conceptual diagrams,

and competition boards while ensuring clear and hierarchical communication of information.
- Produce analytical maps and figures (mobility, land uses, vegetation, built form).
- Ensure consistency with WSP’s visual identity across all graphic deliverables.
- Contribute visual material for proposals, reports, and client presentations in collaboration with proposal support teams.

Collaboration

- Participate in design workshops and coordination meetings with Quebec teams.
- Document versions, modeling assumptions, and data sources to ensure deliverable traceability.
- Recommend improvements to templates, workflows, and libraries to increase production efficiency.

Desired Profile

- Degree in Landscape Architecture, which is the expected educational background for this position. Degrees in Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Environmental Design, Graphic Design, or 3D Animation will only be considered exceptionally if accompanied by equivalent technical experience in public realm development.
- 3 to 7 years of experience combining landscape architecture technical production with 3D modeling, visualization, or design graphics production, enabling independent delivery without close supervision. Experience in landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, planning, or engineering consulting firms is preferred.

- Demonstrated experience producing complete drawing packages (site layout, grading, planting, and construction details) for public realm improvement projects.
- Knowledge of materials, landscape construction techniques, and plant species adapted to North American climates (a significant asset).
- Portfolio demonstrating rendering quality, design sensitivity, and strong layout skills.
- Interest and sensitivity toward public realm design, urban greening, climate resilience, and active transportation.
- Proficiency in French, both written and spoken, is an essential requirement and a screening criterion. The incumbent collaborates daily with Quebec teams, participates in design workshops in French, and produces plans, annotations, schedules, and specifications in French.
- Functional English is an asset for collaboration with other WSP offices.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented,

rigorous, and capable of quickly integrating design feedback.
