The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and driven Data Engineer to join our growing team in Bogotá. As a foundational member of our new Bogotá office, you will play a key role in building and leading a high-performing engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain robust systems and infrastructure for processing and analysing large-scale, complex datasets.

What you'll do

- Design, build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines that ingest data from application databases, third-party APIs and event streams.
- Model data in the warehouse (staging,



core, marts) so downstream users can trust and reuse it.
- Write SQL and Python that other people can read, review and safely change.
- Add tests, monitoring and alerting so broken pipelines are caught before stakeholders notice.
- Partner with analysts and product engineers to turn vague data requests into well-defined tables and contracts.
- Investigate data quality issues, trace them back to the source, and fix the root cause.

What we're looking for

- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- C1 English, daily communication with international stakeholders is a core part of the role.
- Strong proficiency in Python (with frameworks such as Pandas, or PySpark) and SQL.
- Experience building and integrating REST APIs (e.g., FastAPI).
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, Kubernetes, and Airflow.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
- Strong Linux and command line skills.
- Proven experience hiring, mentoring, and leading junior engineers.
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and event streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and business teams.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
