Data Protection & Backup Engineer
Role Summary:
Serve as Amrize's senior technical authority for the end-to-end data protection lifecycle, spanning enterprise Backup, long-term Archiving, Cyber Resiliency, and Business Continuity.
Operate and optimize the Commvault and native-cloud backup stack (AWS, GCP, and on-premises across 30+ IT and OT sites), architect resilience strategies, lead DR exercises, and act as the single point of technical accountability for data availability, resiliency, and recoverability. This role demands deep multi-platform expertise, executive-level communication, and a proactive vision to keep the company's information secure, compliant, and always recoverable under any scenario.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the enterprise Data Protection domain as SME: Serve as the single point of technical authority for Backup, Archiving and Business Continuity across Amrize, setting technical direction and guaranteeing that critical data and services remain protected, recoverable and compliant at all times.
• Coordinate cross-functional Business Continuity: Orchestrate BC / DR planning with IT Security, SRE, Infrastructure, Application
