This person works in Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB, and Aurora MySQL on AWS, covering everything from operational tooling to system architecture. Comfort picking up compliance, cost-savings, and observability work matters here.WHAT YOU WILL DO- Take on lower-priority engineering work the team lacks bandwidth for, including compliance and engineering maintenance, cost-savings, observability, experiment clean-up, and operational tool development.- Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software systems.- Contribute to system architecture and technical design, validating solutions through data and experimentation where appropriate.- Participate in code reviews and design reviews to maintain high engineering standards.- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.- Partner with a Product Manager and fellow engineers to clarify requirements and perform mid-level design work, focusing primarily on coding, testing, and documentation.MUST HAVES- 3+ years of professional, backend-focused software development experience- Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin- Proficiency in a modern NoSQL database,
