AD OPERATIONS Ad Operations Senior Associate Position Summary The Ad Operations Senior Associate is an experienced individual-contributor role that bridges hands-on execution with early-stage technical ownership.
The Senior
Associate independently owns (R) trafficking, QA, brand safety monitoring, and reporting for standard and mid-complexity campaigns with minimal oversight, and serves as the first line of technical guidance and escalation for Associates. Final accountability (A) for the function — including high-complexity builds, client-facing escalations, and sign-off on campaign launch — remains with the Supervisor. This role is designed for someone who has moved beyond foundational execution and is ready to operate with greater autonomy, mentor junior team members informally, and contribute directly to process improvement, without yet holding formal people-management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities Strategy & Client Support
- Own day-to-day operational input on media plan review for assigned accounts, flagging capacity or feasibility considerations ahead of Supervisor sign-off
- Serve as a first point of contact for client-facing platform or setup questions on assigned campaigns, looping in the Supervisor for strategic or escalated items
- Proactively monitor IO/Prisma authorization status and surface risks or discrepancies before they affect launch timelines
Campaign Trafficking & Setup
- Independently build CM360/Innovid campaign architecture for standard and mid-complexity campaigns, escalating high-complexity or high-risk builds to the Supervisor
- Own display and video (VAST) tag trafficking end-to-end — placement creation, ad association, and tag QA — without direct oversight
- Own Floodlight/conversion tag setup and ongoing monitoring for assigned accounts
- Serve as the taxonomy and naming-convention QA checkpoint for Associate work prior to Supervisor review
- Maintain and improve trafficking sheet templates; build and distribute sheets to partners independently
- Package and deliver tags to direct publishers and programmatic DSP partners
Ad Verification & Brand Safety
- Own day-to-day IAS/DV campaign setup and configuration for assigned accounts
- Independently monitor and triage daily IAS flags for viewability, invalid traffic (IVT), and brand safety
- Lead first-response brand safety incident handling — pausing placements, investigating, and documenting findings — escalating client-facing resolution to the Supervisor
- Contribute analysis and insights to weekly brand safety reporting
Campaign QA & Launch
- Perform pre-launch QA checklist sign-off for standard campaigns independently, escalating complex or high-risk campaigns to the Supervisor for final sign-off
- Lead launch day verification of impressions, IAS data, and Floodlight fires for assigned campaigns
- Own 72-hour hypercare monitoring for assigned campaigns, verifying pacing integrity and critical technical components
- Serve as the first escalation point for publisher tag go-live confirmation issues before Supervisor involvement
- Lead VAST tag testing and creative QA, resolving standard spec-compliance issues independently
- Monitor ongoing campaign health and flag issues for Supervisor escalation when they exceed standard resolution
Platform & Systems Management
- Own new user account setup and first-line access troubleshooting across platforms (CM360, IAS, Workfront, SharePoint, Prisma, Innovid, DV, Tableau, etc.)
- Maintain SharePoint documentation and flag structural or organizational improvements to the Supervisor
- Lead Innovid managed service coordination for assigned accounts,
ensuring video/DR-OTT assets are correctly formatted and delivered
Process, Training & Governance
- Contribute to and help maintain SOPs, flagging outdated or unclear documentation and drafting updates for Supervisor review
- Serve as the day-to-day training resource and technical mentor for Associates, reducing the Supervisor's direct training load
- Participate in quality audits and lead specific process-improvement initiatives as assigned
- Support cross-team coordination on tagging execution and handoff timing across media, social, and programmatic teams
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of experience in digital ad operations, campaign trafficking, or programmatic/display media
- Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with CM360 (or equivalent ad server), Innovid, and IAS/DV verification platforms, with minimal need for oversight on standard builds
- Working understanding of tagging, Floodlight/conversion tracking, and VAST video specifications sufficient to troubleshoot independently
- Experience informally mentoring or training junior team members (e.g., Associates) preferred; formal people-management experience not required
- Excellent attention to detail, QA discipline, and ability to manage multiple concurrent campaigns with minimal supervision
- Comfortable serving as a first-line escalation point for technical issues before Supervisor involvement
What Success Looks Like
- Standard and mid-complexity campaigns are trafficked, QA'd, and launched independently with minimal Supervisor intervention
- Associates receive reliable day-to-day technical guidance, reducing the Supervisor's direct training load
- Discrepancies and brand safety flags are triaged and resolved at the Senior Associate level, with only complex or high-risk issues escalated
- SOPs and documentation improve incrementally through the Senior Associate's process contributions
- The Senior Associate is positioned to take on formal people-management responsibility as the team scales
