ABOUT THE ROLE

Azcendra is seeking a Freight Forwarding / Carrier Sales Specialist to support U.S. transportation and freight operations for an international client.

The role focuses on carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, load coverage, shipment coordination, relationship management, and maintaining accurate transportation records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Source and qualify carriers for available loads using transportation networks, TMS platforms, load boards, and carrier databases.
- Negotiate rates, capacity, pickup/delivery requirements, and transportation terms with carriers.
- Secure reliable carrier coverage while balancing service requirements and transportation costs.
- Coordinate load details, appointments, pickup instructions, and delivery requirements.
- Maintain accurate carrier, load, rate, and shipment information in TMS/CRM systems.
- Communicate continuously with carriers regarding availability, ETAs, delays, capacity, and shipment updates.
- Monitor assigned loads and proactively address coverage, service, or operational issues.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with carriers and transportation partners.
- Request and verify rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, insurance information, and other required documentation.
- Follow up on documentation and ensure loads are properly updated and closed in the system.
- Escalate service issues, missed appointments, delays, or carrier performance concerns.
- Meet defined KPIs related to carrier coverage, response time, cost, service, and operational performance.





REQUIREMENTS

- 2–5+ years of experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, freight forwarding, transportation, dispatch, or related logistics operations.
- Advanced English — C1 level, written and spoken.
- Hands-on experience communicating and negotiating with U.S. carriers.
- Experience with TMS platforms, load boards, carrier databases, or transportation management systems.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of freight rates, capacity, lanes, equipment types, and transportation terminology.
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple loads and carrier conversations simultaneously.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and follow-up.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

PREFERRED

- U.S. domestic freight experience.
- Experience with FTL, LTL, dry van, reefer, flatbed, or specialized equipment.
- Experience with DAT, Truckstop, TMS platforms, or similar transportation technology.
- Existing knowledge of U.S. freight lanes and carrier networks.
- Experience in freight brokerage or 3PL operations.
