Role Overview
Job Duck is seeking a highly organized and proactive Bilingual Civil Litigation Paralegal to support a fast-paced legal team with litigation matters and court-related processes. In this role, you will draft pleadings, motions, proposed orders, and correspondence while maintaining accurate case documentation and assisting with newly filed lawsuits. You will communicate professionally with opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court personnel, and internal team members while helping matters move forward efficiently.

Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM [EST][EDT] (United States of America)
Your Responsibilities Will Include but Are Not Limited To:
- Managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Assisting with other litigation and legal administrative duties as assigned
- Communicating professionally with opposing counsel regarding litigation matters
- Notifying judicial offices of relevant case developments, including settlements, when appropriate
- Creating and maintaining accurate contact information for judges and judicial assistants
- Maintaining organized, complete, and accurate case files and documentation
- Communicating with judicial assistants regarding case questions, updates, and administrative matters
- Reviewing newly assigned cases and identifying the appropriate judge using the assigned case number
- Preparing and sending conferral emails to opposing counsel when required
- Drafting initial pleadings and litigation-related legal documents using established templates
- Researching and adding judges to the case management system when necessary
- Maintaining accurate records of litigation requests, communications, and follow-ups
- Completing E-filing activities accurately and within applicable deadlines
- Assisting with case setup after new lawsuits are filed
- Drafting proposed orders, cover letters to judges, and court-related correspondence
- Preparing witness lists, exhibit lists, and other case documentation
- Supporting civil litigation and first-party property damage matters
- Drafting motions to compel, including motions related to obtaining deposition dates when opposing parties are unresponsive or do not cooperate
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working in a legal environment,
preferably supporting litigation matters
- Civil litigation experience
- First-party property damage experience
- E-filing experience
- Previous experience supporting United States litigation matters
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, proposed orders, or other litigation documents
- Experience communicating with opposing counsel, courts, judges, or judicial assistants preferred
- Familiarity with United States litigation procedures and legal terminology preferred
- Formal paralegal certification or licensing not required
- Using Clio for case management
- Using Dropbox for document storage and management
- Using Microsoft Outlook for email and communication
- Using Microsoft Teams for internal communication
- Using VoIP calling software for occasional telephone communication
- Working without specialized calling hardware, as the calling system can be accessed through the work computer when appropriately configured
- Reliable computer setup (laptop/PC, headset, stable internet min. 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload)
