Reports To: Head of Operations / Founder
Pay: 18,000-26,000 USD
About the role
Our company is looking for a Shopify Manager to own our Shopify storefronts across our brands. You are the person responsible for making sure our sites work, convert, and stay accurate, every day, across multiple brands with different products and promotional calendars.
This is a hands-on ownership role. You will be the only person who knows our Shopify environment end to end, so we need someone who tests before publishing, documents what they build, and raises issues early. You will work directly with the CEO and are our point person for development work.
What you'll do:
- Own the storefronts. Themes, page templates, product catalog, collections, merchandising, and site search across our brands.
- Own promotions. Discount codes, automatic discounts, bundles, and promotional pages, including testing stacking behavior and edge cases before anything goes live.
- Own the technical stack. Apps, checkout, payment gateways, subscription functionality on the subscription brands, and every integration between Shopify and our email, inventory, accounting, tax, and marketplace systems. When something breaks, you diagnose and fix it regardless of who touched it last.
- Own releases. Run QA before anything publishes, support product launches through go-live, and roll back cleanly when needed.
- Own conversion. Monitor site performance, conversion rate, and page speed. Pull and interpret analytics, and bring recommendations rather than only reports.
- Document how our stores are configured, so that knowledge does not live only in one person's head.
- Support marketing, secondarily. Build and manage Klaviyo email and SMS campaigns,
flows, and segments. Keep TikTok Shop and Amazon listings consistent with Shopify. Track promotional calendars across brands and flag conflicts early.
How this role works with others:
Developers. You are the point of contact. You write the specs, own and prioritize the backlog across brands, push back when something is not worth building, and review and test what comes back before it goes live. You are accountable for the quality of that work, not just for passing requests along.
Brand managers. Each brand has a manager who owns commercial decisions. They make routine content edits directly, including copy, images, prices, collection ordering, and standard promotions. They may draft landing pages, but you review and publish anything structural.
They do not have access to themes, apps, checkout, payment, discount logic, subscriptions, or integrations. Nothing structural goes live without passing through you, and you are expected to hold that line without becoming a bottleneck.
What you bring
- 3–5 years of hands-on Shopify experience with direct responsibility for a live storefront, not assisting someone who owned it.
- Experience managing more than one store, or one store with multiple product lines and distinct promotional calendars.
- Working knowledge of Shopify themes and comfort reading and lightly modifying Liquid.
- Real experience with discount logic, stacking rules, and the ways promotions break.
- Experience managing a Shopify app stack and troubleshooting integration failures.
- Experience with a subscription platform such as Recharge, Skio, or Loop.
- Experience as the business point of contact for developers, including specs, backlog, and reviewing completed work.
- Working experience with Klaviyo, including flows, segments, and campaigns.
- Strong spreadsheet skills.
- Careful and methodical. You test before you publish and you tell people when something is wrong.
- Comfortable being the gate. You will sometimes tell brand owners that what they built cannot go live yet, and you need to do that clearly and without friction.
- Comfortable working fully remote with a distributed team.
Nice to have
- Deeper front-end skills in Liquid, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript, enough to evaluate developer work rather than only request it.
- Shopify Plus experience, including Flow, scripts, or checkout extensibility.
- Familiarity with TikTok Shop and Amazon Seller Central.
- Experience with GA4, page builders such as Replo or Shogun, or A/B testing tools.
- External development agency or contractor management.
- Background in ecommerce, consumer products, or pet industry brands.
How we'll evaluate
Expect a practical assessment. We will ask you to work through real storefront scenarios rather than only discuss your experience.
