About AlphaGov
AlphaGov supports government and public-sector clients through research, analysis, strategic planning, and specialized consulting. Our delivery model combines an internal project team with subject matter experts (SMEs) selected for each engagement.
We are hiring a full-time Project Manager to manage multiple active projects simultaneously and coordinate the people, deadlines, and deliverables required for successful execution.
The Role
You will own day-to-day project management from contract handoff and client kickoff through final delivery and closeout. You will work directly with clients, SMEs, and AlphaGov’s internal team to turn each project’s scope into a clear, actionable delivery plan.
This is a hands-on delivery role. You must actively manage projects in real time, follow up on commitments, resolve blockers, and keep work moving across multiple engagements.
What You’ll Do
- Lead project kickoff meetings with clients, SMEs, and internal stakeholders to confirm scope, responsibilities, milestones, and expectations.
- Translate contract requirements into project plans with clear tasks, owners, deadlines, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing priorities and shared resources as deadlines and client needs change.
- Coordinate with SMEs daily to assign work, clarify requirements, track progress, and address obstacles.
- Maintain current project schedules, action logs, risk registers, and status updates so leadership can quickly see where each engagement stands.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, leading progress meetings and communicating decisions, next steps,
and emerging issues.
- Coordinate research, data collection, analysis, report development, presentations, and other project activities.
- Review work for completeness and alignment with the agreed scope, coordinating technical review with the appropriate SMEs and quality reviewers.
- Track project hours, budgets, and resource utilization; flag potential overruns early.
- Identify scope changes, document their impact, and obtain appropriate approval before additional work proceeds.
- Maintain organized project records, meeting notes, decision logs, and document version control.
- Manage client feedback, revisions, final acceptance, and project closeout.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience independently managing multiple client-facing projects from kickoff through completion.
- Direct experience delivering projects for U.S. government or public-sector clients at the municipal, county, state, or federal level.
- Experience coordinating SMEs, consultants, researchers, or other specialized professionals.
- Ability to translate statements of work and contract requirements into practical delivery plans.
- Strong written and spoken English, including the ability to lead client meetings and write clear project updates.
- Strong organization,
follow-through, and judgment when managing competing deadlines.
- Experience using project management software, spreadsheets, shared documents, and remote collaboration tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and maintain consistent availability during agreed U.S. business hours.
- Reliable internet access and a professional environment for video meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in government consulting, strategic planning, workforce studies, organizational assessments, program evaluation, or related professional services.
- Experience managing external experts across multiple time zones.
- Familiarity with public-sector reporting, documentation, and deliverable acceptance requirements.
- PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, or a comparable project management credential.
What Success Looks Like
- Every project has a clear plan, accountable owners, and current deadlines.
- SMEs understand their assignments and deliver work on schedule.
- Clients receive timely communication and know what happens next.
- Risks, delays, and resource conflicts are addressed before they jeopardize delivery.
- Deliverables move through review and client acceptance in an organized, timely manner.
- Leadership has an accurate view of project progress, budget exposure, and decisions requiring attention.
Work Arrangement This is a full-time, remote position. International applicants are welcome, subject to client and contract requirements. Regular overlap with U.S. business hours is required for client meetings and daily team coordination.
