Communication Specialist Roles - Comm Delivery Hub The Communication Specialist is part of the Communications Services Delivery Hub, a global communications team supporting WSP’s internal, corporate, and local communications teams. Reporting to the Director, Communications Services Delivery Hub, this role contributes to the development and delivery of clear, consistent, and brand‑aligned content, primarily for internal communications. This position is well suited for an early- to mid‑career communications professional with strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a structured, evolving global environment.
Role Overview – Communication Specialist (P2)
Communications Services Delivery Hub The Communication Specialist (P2) is a professional-level role within the Communications Services Delivery Hub, WSP’s general communications delivery function. The Hub supports internal, corporate, and local communications teams by providing consistent, high‑quality, and brand‑aligned content across regions and business lines.
Reporting to the Director, Communications Services Delivery Hub, the Communication Specialist contributes to the execution of internal communications initiatives by developing, editing, and adapting content that supports organizational priorities, employee engagement, and global alignment. The role operates within a structured service model and collaborates closely with communications partners across geographies.
This position is designed for an early- to mid‑career communications professional (P2) who is developing depth in internal communications, demonstrates strong writing and editing capabilities, and is comfortable working within established frameworks, processes, and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development and Execution
- Draft, edit,
and proofread internal communications content, including announcements, leadership messages, updates, and campaign materials.
- Adapt content to ensure clarity, consistency, tone, and alignment with WSP’s corporate voice and brand standards.
- Translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible messaging for internal audiences.
Service Delivery and Collaboration
- Support internal clients (corporate, regional, and local communications teams) by executing assigned communications requests within agreed timelines and service standards.
- Collaborate with Communications Business Partners and other Hub team members to deliver coordinated, high‑quality outputs.
- Participate in intake, review, and approval processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established governance.
Global Consistency and Brand Alignment
- Apply editorial standards, templates, and style guidelines consistently across all deliverables.
- Ensure messaging supports global alignment while remaining adaptable to regional and functional contexts.
- Contribute to maintaining a cohesive internal communications experience across platforms and regions.
Process and Continuous Improvement
- Work within defined workflows, tools, and service models used by the Communications Services Delivery Hub.
- Identify opportunities to improve templates, content approaches, and delivery processes.
- Support documentation of best practices and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Scope and Complexity (P2 Level)
- Operates with moderate autonomy on defined tasks and deliverables.
- Works on clearly scoped communications requests, escalating issues or risks as needed.
- Applies professional judgment within established guidelines and frameworks.
- May manage multiple assignments simultaneously with guidance on prioritization.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Professional experience in internal, corporate, or organizational communications at an early to mid‑career level.
- 3–4 years of professional experience in internal, corporate, or organizational communications.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a structured, process‑driven environment.
- Comfort collaborating across time zones, cultures, and functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and digital collaboration tools.
Role Development and Progression
This role provides a strong foundation for growth within WSP’s global communications function. As experience and capability increase, the Communication Specialist (P2) may take on:
