We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our Texas-based personal injury practice as an independent contractor. In this role, you’ll work directly with U.S.-based attorneys and clients, manage meaningful casework, and play an important role in moving cases from pre-litigation through settlement.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident working independently, enjoys client interaction, and wants to continue building their experience in U.S. personal injury law.
What You'll Do• Support Clients: Serve as a key point of contact, provide case updates, answer general questions, coordinate appointments, and maintain professional and compassionate communication.
• Manage Cases: Open and maintain client files in Filevine or similar case management software,



track deadlines and case activity, and help keep matters moving forward.
• Coordinate Medical Records: Obtain, organize, and summarize medical records, bills, accident reports, and other case documentation.
• Prepare Case Materials: Draft correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and basic legal documents under attorney or case manager supervision.
• Support Settlement Preparation: Assist with settlement demand packages and communicate with insurance adjusters as needed.
• Coordinate Litigation Activities: Schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and other case-related events and maintain accurate calendars.
• Collaborate With the Legal Team: Work with attorneys, case managers, legal assistants, and investigators to support the progression of cases.
• Assist Where Needed: Provide support with intake, records retrieval, and other case-related responsibilities.
