CERTIFIED TRANSLATOR & OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

We are looking for a Certified Translator & Operations Specialist in Colombia to join our team in a role that combines certified translation review, document quality assurance, and back-office operations.

This is not a traditional translation position. Our technology performs the initial translation, allowing the translator to focus on reviewing, correcting, quality-checking, and certifying official documents when required.

Key Responsibilities

Translation Review & Certification

- Review English–Spanish translations of legal, government, immigration, corporate, civil-registry, and other official documents.
- Verify that technology-generated translations accurately reflect the original documents.
- Correct errors and discrepancies when necessary.
- Check names, dates, numbers, legal terminology, formatting, signatures, seals, and other critical information.
- Certify and stamp completed translations when legally appropriate.
- Maintain applicable professional standards for certified translations in Colombia.
- Escalate documents requiring additional professional review.

Document Quality Assurance

- Review documents before submission to government agencies, service providers, or clients.
- Ensure documents meet applicable requirements.
- Identify missing, inconsistent, or potentially problematic information.
- Check names, dates, signatures, seals, certifications, translations, and supporting documents.
- Perform final quality checks before document fulfillment or delivery.

Back-Office & Operations

- Coordinate with clients, internal team members, and external service providers.
- Manage orders and fulfillment steps through our operating system and dashboard.
- Track order status, deadlines, missing documents, and outstanding actions.
- Follow established workflows, SOPs, checklists, and service-level requirements.
- Escalate exceptions and unusual cases when necessary.




- Help ensure that every order reaches completion without being delayed or overlooked.

Requirements

- Must be legally authorized/qualified to certify official English–Spanish translations in Colombia.
- Must hold the credentials, registration, authorization, or certification required to issue certified translations accepted for official use in Colombia.
- Strong proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Experience working with legal, government, immigration, consular, apostille, legalization, civil-registry, corporate, or other official documents.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with technology and web-based systems.
- Comfortable following detailed procedures, SOPs, and checklists.
- Willing and able to perform both professional document review and operational/back-office responsibilities.

- Comfortable working with repetitive or standardized documents efficiently.
- Technologically proficient and interested in AI-assisted workflows.
- Process-oriented and comfortable following established procedures.
- Able to manage multiple orders at different stages simultaneously.
- Comfortable communicating with clients and third-party providers.
- Interested in combining their professional translation expertise with operations and technology.

Important

This position is not primarily a manual translation role. Technology will handle much of the initial translation work. The successful candidate will provide the professional review, judgment, quality assurance, and certification required for official documents, while also supporting the operational side of the business.

Contract: Indefinite-term
Schedule: Full-time / Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Work modality: Hybrid
Location: Medellín
