Construction Bookkeeper & Office Administrator
Location: Remote -- Colombia
Engagement: Independent Contractor
Pay: $12 - $18 USD per hour, based on relevant experience

R.J. General Builders, Inc. is a California-licensed general contractor specializing in residential remodeling. Our projects range from smaller renovations to large, complex remodels involving multiple trades. We're a small team that values clear communication, keeping our commitments, and doing right by our clients.
We're looking for someone who can keep our books, project information, and day-to-day administrative work organized. You'll work closely with the person who currently manages many of these responsibilities, and with the company owner. You'll have time to learn how the business operates, then take ownership of recurring tasks and suggest better ways to manage them.
This is a remote role.



You'll meet regularly with the California team by video, communicate primarily by email, and coordinate working hours that allow for overlap. The exact schedule has not been set.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online, including expense categorization and bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Track labor, material, and subcontractor costs by project to support job costing.
- Create client invoices and progress billings; monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Organize vendor invoices and help coordinate accounts payable.
- Keep cash flow information current and prepare regular financial reports for the owner.
- Organize contracts, change orders, proposals, receipts, and project files in Google Shared Drive.
- Track subcontractor licenses, insurance documents, renewals, and other compliance records.
- Support scheduling, calendars, and day-to-day admin
