We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Regional Director of Sales – Hotels to lead and develop hotel sales strategies across key markets in Latin America.
The role will be responsible for driving hotel revenue, market growth, business development, key account management, travel trade partnerships, MICE, leisure, wholesale, B2B, DMC, and corporate sales across the assigned region.
The adecuado candidate will be a senior hotel sales professional with a strong network across the Latin American hospitality and travel industry and a proven track record of delivering room revenue through multiple commercial channels.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership position requiring strong hotel sales expertise, commercial acumen, relationship management, market knowledge, negotiation skills, and regional leadership .
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Regional Hotel Sales Strategy
- Develop and implement the regional hotel sales strategy in line with overall commercial objectives.
- Identify priority markets, customer segments, source markets, and revenue opportunities.
- Establish annual sales plans, targets, budgets, and KPIs.
- Develop strategies across MICE, Leisure, Wholesale, B2B, DMC, Corporate, Group, and Travel Trade segments.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, tourism demand, and distribution developments.
1. Business Development
- Identify and acquire new hotel accounts, travel trade partners, corporate clients, wholesalers, DMCs, tour operators, and strategic partners.
- Develop new source markets and commercial opportunities.
- Build a strong regional sales pipeline.
- Conduct sales calls, client meetings, presentations, site inspections, and commercial negotiations.
- Represent the hotel portfolio at industry events, trade shows, tourism fairs, roadshows, and sales missions.
1. MICE & Group Sales
- Develop and grow MICE, corporate groups, conferences, incentives, meetings, and events business.
- Build relationships with MICE agencies, event organizers, DMCs, corporate travel managers, and group travel buyers.
- Identify opportunities for group room nights and ancillary revenue.
- Develop regional MICE strategies and account plans.
1. Leisure & Travel Trade
- Develop relationships with leisure travel agencies, tour operators, wholesalers, OTAs, DMCs, and travel trade partners.
- Increase hotel room production through leisure and travel trade channels.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, rates, promotions, and packages.
- Develop joint marketing and promotional opportunities with strategic partners.
1. Wholesale & B2B Sales
- Develop and manage the hotel's wholesale and B2B distribution network .
- Identify high-value wholesalers and travel distribution partners.
- Negotiate rates, allotments, contracts, promotions, and commercial terms.
- Monitor production, room nights, revenue, ADR, and profitability by partner.
- Identify opportunities to expand hotel distribution across Latin American markets.
1. DMC & Tourism Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with DMCs, destination management companies, tour operators, tourism organizations, and local travel partners .
- Develop destination-specific sales strategies.
- Generate room nights and group business through DMC and tourism partnerships.
- Participate in tourism workshops, networking events, and destination sales missions.
1. Key Account Management
- Manage and grow strategic regional accounts.
- Develop account plans for high-value customers and partners.
- Conduct regular business reviews and monitor account production.
- Identify opportunities for increased room nights, revenue, and market share.
- Maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
1. Revenue & Commercial Performance
- Take responsibility for achieving regional hotel sales and revenue targets.
- Monitor room nights, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, revenue, production, and market share .
- Work closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, inventory, promotions, and distribution.
- Analyze sales performance and implement corrective strategies.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and market intelligence to senior management.
1. Sales Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop regional sales teams where applicable.
- Establish sales targets, KPIs, and performance standards.
- Conduct regular pipeline and performance reviews.
- Develop best practices across markets and sales channels.
- Build a high-performance, commercially focused sales culture.
1. Marketing & Commercial Partnerships
- Work closely with Marketing and Revenue Management teams on regional campaigns.
- Develop joint promotions with airlines, travel companies, OTAs, DMCs, wholesalers, and tourism partners.
- Support digital campaigns, trade marketing, sales promotions, and destination marketing.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen hotel brand visibility within target markets.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field .
- Minimum 8–12 years of progressive hotel sales experience .
- Proven experience in a Regional Sales Director, Director of Sales, Regional Sales Manager, Cluster Director of Sales, or senior hotel sales position .
- Hotel Sales experience is mandatory.
- Strong experience across one or more of the following:
- MICE, Leisure, Wholesale, B2B, DMC, Tour Operators, Travel Trade, Corporate Sales, Group Sales
- Strong existing network within the Latin American hospitality and travel industry.
- Proven track record of generating hotel room revenue.
- Strong understanding of hotel distribution and commercial channels.
- Excellent negotiation, business development, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong financial and commercial understanding.
- Experience managing regional or international markets.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Latin America and internationally.
- Fluent Spanish and English communication skills.
