The Opportunity
We are seeking a Junior Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) to join our Medical Affairs team in Colombia on a temporary 3-month contract. This is a hybrid, field-based role offering an excellent opportunity for an early-career medical affairs professional to gain valuable experience within a leading integral biopharmaceutical company.
The MSL will serve as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals and key stakeholders, supporting non-promotional medical and scientific activities across Ipsen's therapeutic areas. The role will contribute to scientific exchange, insight generation, medical education initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration to support the objectives of the Medical Affairs organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scientific relationships with healthcare professionals, key thought leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support the communication of medical and scientific information in a fair, balanced, and compliant manner.
- Facilitate scientific exchange and educational activities aligned with Medical Affairs priorities.
- Gather and communicate field insights to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and execution of medical plans and scientific initiatives.
- Support advisory boards, congress activities, and other medical events as appropriate.
- Maintain current knowledge of scientific literature, clinical developments, and therapeutic area trends.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Medical, Clinical Development, Market Access, and Commercial colleagues.
- Ensure timely documentation of activities and compliance with Ipsen policies, SOPs, and local regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- Degree in Medicine.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Strong scientific aptitude and ability to interpret and communicate clinical data.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a matrix organization.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Patient-focused mindset and commitment to ethical conduct.
Preferred
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Industry, or a Medical Scientific Liaison role.
- Postgraduate education (MSc, PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent).
- Experience engaging with healthcare professionals and scientific stakeholders.
