French-English Translator – Colombia

Location: Colombia | Remote

Position Summary

We are looking for a French-English Translator based in Colombia to support the translation, localization, review, and adaptation of company communications and business materials between English and French .

This role will primarily support content intended for French-speaking Canadian audiences , ensuring translations are accurate, natural, culturally appropriate, and consistent with company terminology and brand voice.

The French-English Translator will collaborate with Marketing and other internal teams to translate a variety of content, including marketing communications, training resources, presentations, digital content, corporate communications, and product-related materials.

The adecuado candidate has excellent written proficiency in French and English , strong translation and proofreading skills, and the ability to adapt content beyond literal translation while preserving its original meaning, tone, and intent.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate written content from English to French and French to English , accurately maintaining meaning, tone, style, and intent.
- Review, proofread, and edit French and English content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, terminology, consistency, and readability.
- Localize content for French-speaking Canadian audiences , considering appropriate terminology, cultural context, and regional language conventions.
- Translate marketing materials, presentations, training resources, internal communications, digital content, product-related materials, and other business documents.




- Maintain consistency in company terminology, brand voice, messaging, and style across translated content.
- Maintain and update translation glossaries, terminology databases, style guides, and other linguistic resources.
- Collaborate with Marketing and cross-functional teams to clarify terminology, context, messaging, and translation requirements.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of French-language materials prior to publication or distribution.
- Manage multiple translation projects and priorities while meeting established deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling internal or sensitive company information.
- Stay current with Canadian French language conventions, terminology, and localization best practices .
- Support additional translation, proofreading, editing, and localization projects as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Modern Languages, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of professional experience in translation, localization, proofreading, bilingual communications, or a related area preferred.
- Professional experience translating content between English and French .




- Experience translating or localizing marketing, corporate, consumer-facing, digital, or e-commerce content is highly preferred.
- Previous experience supporting multiple stakeholders or working within a corporate environment is a plus.

Skills & Competencies
- Native or near-native written proficiency in French and strong professional proficiency in English.
- Exceptional French and English grammar, spelling, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Knowledge of Canadian French terminology and language conventions , or demonstrated experience adapting French-language content for Canadian audiences.
- Ability to translate meaning, tone, and intent naturally rather than relying on word-for-word translation.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to linguistic accuracy and consistency.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with international and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with CAT tools, translation memory software, terminology databases, or localization platforms is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business applications.
