About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, secure, and optimize database environments within enterprise infrastructure. This role involves working across multiple database technologies, Linux-based systems, automation tools, and high-availability solutions.

The idóneo candidate has solid database administration experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to automate operational tasks while ensuring database performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer, maintain, and optimize database environments across multiple database management systems.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement performance-tuning strategies.
- Manage database backups, recovery procedures, upgrades, patching, and ongoing maintenance.
- Implement database security standards, access controls, and operational best practices.
- Support high-availability solutions and multi-site database architectures.
- Automate database administration tasks using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.
- Administer and troubleshoot database environments running on Linux-based operating systems.
- Support database infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and enterprise hardware environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to improve database reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Use version control practices with Git and participate in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.

Required Qualifications





- 4+ years of experience in Database Administration (DBA) or a closely related database operations role.
- Hands-on experience administering one or more database management systems, such as Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line administration.
- Experience with database automation and scripting using Ansible, Python, and/or Shell.
- Understanding of database security standards, access management, and best practices.
- Experience with database backups, recovery, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of high-availability solutions and multi-site database environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure and database operations.
- Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively in professional and technical environments.
- Availability to work in a hybrid model, spending 50% of the month onsite at the Bogotá office.

Nice to Have

- Experience with Oracle Database 19c and/or 23c.
- Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard, GoldenGate, and Data Pump.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with enterprise hardware environments.
- Experience using Git and working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
