TheEngineering Team Lead role exists to provide focused leadership within a specific area of the engineering organization. This role bridges the gap between individual contributors and senior engineering leadership, with a blend of technical execution, team management, and functional ownership.
Role Responsibilities
Technical Execution & Delivery
The Team Lead ensures that work is delivered consistently, on time, and with quality. They are expected to be technically hands-on and a player-coach; contributing to code reviews, architecture discussions, and even active development.
This includesmanagingandcommunicatingtheteam’sbacklog,



partnering with Product Management to prioritizeincomingwork, and ensuring follow-through onalldeliverables.
They are directly accountable for the success of their functional area, including:
- Creating visibility into team progress, blockers, and impact and proactively communicating progress
- Driving outcomes and continuous improvement within their area of responsibility
- Owning the performance, reliability, and delivery oftheir team’s software
- Ensuring that deliverables meet organizational standards such as for security,usabilityand API guidelines
- Ensuringcustomerissues are triaged, prioritized, and resolved effectively
- Collaborating with other leads and stakeholders to align on goals and resourcing
