As a Principal SSD Systems Design Engineer within Micron’s Solid State Drive (SSD) Product Development Team (PDT), you will serve as a technical leader and strategic influencer across general teams. Using your extensive experience, you will drive SSD innovation from concept through high-volume manufacturing, developing architecture, guiding multi-functional execution, and mentoring engineering talent. This role requires deep technical authority, strong leadership, and the ability to influence product direction at organizational scale, leveraging AI.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead system-level design definition and design reviews for SSD products, ensuring alignment with roadmap, customer requirements, and platform capabilities
- Drive resolution of complex,



multi-domain technical issues (firmware, hardware, systems) using structured methodologies and data-driven debug approaches
- Define and implement system-level characterization strategies (power, thermal, performance, reliability)
- Act as a primary technical interface for executive partners, customers, and global engineering teams
- Lead lessons-learned initiatives and drive continuous improvement in SSD development methodologies
- Mentor engineers and shape technical direction through leadership and influence

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Deep expertise in SSD architecture including controller design, FTL, wear-leveling, and NAND lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of PCIe and NVMe protocols and performance optimization
- Experience in system-level design, debug, and characterization across development phases
