CONTENT & CREATIVE STRATEGIST (DTC FITNESS)
Remote: Philippines or Latin America · Full-time
· $3,000-4,200 USD/month , depending on your level of experience
Most creative strategist jobs end at the brief. This one follows the work through. You’ll turn our priorities and customer insights into creative ideas, work with our team, creators, and AI to get them made, and use the results to improve what comes next.
You’re the person who can turn a customer question into an idea worth making. You understand why someone buys, what they need to know, and what makes them stop scrolling.
About Fringe Sport
Fringe Sport makes strength equipment for home and garage gyms. We're based in Austin, Texas, with a lean team spread across the US, the Philippines and beyond. We care about four things: Winning Team, Customer Focus, Product Passion, Results. We move fast, faster than most people expect when they join.
Why this role exists
Running ads has gotten a lot easier. Making ads that win hasn't. We think the value in paid social now sits with the person who understands the customer and can turn that into creative, fast, and then read what happened. So we're combining creative strategy and day-to-day ad management into one role, with AI handling most of the account work.
We already know what works for us: lots of new video ads, enough budget to get each one through learning, then scale the winners hard. When we did that well, we launched 3–4 new video ads a week. We want someone to get us back there, then past it.
What you'll own
Insight and ideas
- Dig for angles in customer reviews, support tickets, competitor ads and real customer conversations
- Turn them into hooks, concepts, scripts and briefs our team can actually execute
- Keep a clear point of view on what Fringe should say, and what we shouldn't
Paid creative engine
- Run creative testing on Meta and Google: launch, read, scale, kill
- Keep volume up. 3–4 new video ads a week is the floor.
- Use AI tools for the account work so your time goes into creative
- For the first couple of months you'll work alongside our current agency, then take it over
Creators and production
- Brief creators: you send 1–3 briefs, and they come back with around 10 ads. Our Creator & Affiliate Manager handles the relationships.
- Lead a small content team (content creator and video editor) and our AI content workflow
- Make sure everything is true to the product. Our product team checks the technical claims.
Beyond paid
- Shape organic social, YouTube, search content and product education
- Set the messaging for launches and for email/SMS (our email agency builds it)
- Keep a simple learning log so every test makes the next one smarter
What a typical week looks like
- Monday: read last week's results, decide what to kill, iterate and scale
- Write 2–4 briefs (editor, creators, AI) and review what came back
- Launch the week's new ads and set up the tests
- Time with customer support or reviews to find the next angle
- A short update to leadership: what we learned, what's next
Who you'll work with
Our CEO (closely, especially early on), our Creator & Affiliate Manager, our marketing operations lead (calendar, QA, publishing), our content creator and video editor, our product team, and our email agency.
Tools
Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Shopify, Klaviyo (via our agency), Asana, Slack, Google Workspace, and AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT and whatever you're fastest with). You'll also get our internal marketing playbook to plug into your AI setup.
How we'll measure success
Whether priority briefs are ready on time , whether every test closes with a clear learning and a next step , how many new ads go live each week , and what that does to sales at a margin that works .
Your first 90 days
• 30: You know our products, you've talked to customers,
you've audited our ad account and creative, and your first briefs are out.
• 60: You're running the testing rhythm yourself, at 3–4 new video ads a week.
• 90: You own the paid creative engine and can explain what's working and why.
You're probably a fit if you
- Have made DTC ads that worked, and can show us the numbers
- Have run Meta spend yourself, or you're close and let AI do the heavy lifting
- Understand why people buy, and can tell a good hook from a generic one in seconds
- Use AI every day and know when its output is weak or bends the truth
- Have directed editors, creators or writers
Bonus points
- YouTube, SEO or product-education experience
- Fitness, sporting goods or other enthusiast categories
- You've worked with commission-based creator ads
Probably not for you if you
- Only want to write briefs and hand them off
- Need a big team around you
- Get attached to ideas. Most tests lose, and that's fine as long as we learn something.
What we offer
- $3,000-4,200 USD/month depending on experience and location [+ bonus ?? TBC]
- Availability to collaborate with our team during U.S. Central Time business hours.
- Real ownership: you set the creative direction and see the results directly
- Product training, and time with customer support so you know the customer
Work arrangement
Remote in the Philippines or Latin America, with a full US Central workday. Philippines-based candidates should expect overnight hours.
How to apply and what to expect
Start with our intake assessment: https://forms.gle/A9sJYJcAmXqaYTGH6 .
It collects your resume and basic information, along with role-specific questions. Complete the Culture Index survey as part of this initial stage; we’ll provide the link and instructions.
We want to understand how you think, use judgment, and approach the work. Your answers help us evaluate those things alongside your experience before we schedule a screening call. If there’s a fit, our People Ops team will reach out about the next steps. Applications and interviews will be in English.
