Cardiology Specialist
Location: Misrata, Libya
Department: Cardiology
Reports To: Head of Cardiology

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The Cardiology Specialist provides comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with cardiovascular diseases. The Specialist is responsible for evaluating cardiac conditions, interpreting diagnostic investigations, managing acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases, and providing evidence-based cardiac care in collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions.
Conduct comprehensive cardiac evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
Interpret ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and other relevant cardiac investigations.
Diagnose and manage acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions.
Participate in the management of cardiac emergencies and provide timely clinical intervention.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans according to clinical response.
Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, intensivists,



nurses, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
Provide consultation and specialist guidance to other clinical teams when required.
Educate patients and families regarding cardiovascular conditions, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice.

Follow patient safety, infection prevention, and clinical governance standards.

Minimum Qualifications
Medical Degree (MD or equivalent).
Specialist Degree or Board Certification in Cardiology.

Current medical license or eligibility for medical licensure.

Experience Required
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant specialist experience.
Experience managing acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
Strong experience in cardiac diagnostics and interpretation of cardiovascular investigations.

Experience in emergency cardiac care is preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge and clinical expertise in cardiovascular medicine.
Excellent diagnostic and clinical assessment skills.
Proficiency in interpreting ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and Holter monitoring.
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage cardiac emergencies and critically ill cardiac patients.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong multidisciplinary teamwork and collaboration.




Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based clinical practice.

Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure clinical environment.

Education
Medical Degree (MD or equivalent).

Specialist Degree/Board Certification in Cardiology.

Required Certification(s)
Current medical license or eligibility for medical licensure.

Recognized specialist qualification in Cardiology.

Preferred Certification(s)

Additional training or certification in Echocardiography, Cardiac Imaging, Emergency Cardiology, or Critical Care Cardiology.
