We're looking for an experienced SEO professional with a strong background in technical SEO, content strategy, and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO). You have owned an organic search roadmap from start to finish and are ready to build and lead a growing search function and team.

Why this role exists

This is a build and lead role: you’ll own SEO and AEO hands-on while building and managing the team that supports the function. At first, you’ll spend significant time setting the strategy, improving execution, and doing the work yourself. As the team grows, including the Sr. SEO Copywriter and future SEO hires, you’ll take on more coaching, delegation, quality management, and team development while continuing to contribute directly as a hands-on player.

Responsibilities

You’ll own our SEO and AEO work hands-on while managing the growing SEO team. This means executing directly as the function is built and creating the structure, clarity, and support the team needs to succeed.

1. Own the SEO + AEO roadmap. Set priorities, timelines, and KPIs. Take over existing work, improve the processes, and move the roadmap forward day to day.
2. Build the content strategy. Lead keyword research, topic clustering,



editorial briefs, and prioritization that connect organic content to business goals.
3. Run technical SEO. Improve site architecture, crawling, Core Web Vitals, schema markup, and indexation.
4. Build our AEO strategy. Improve how Viva is understood, cited, and found across AI search experiences such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Claude.
5. Lead and develop the SEO team. Set priorities, clarify ownership, coach team members, review work, and build a high-performing SEO function.

Requirements

1. You have at least 5 years of experience managing or leading SEO teams, within 5-8+ years of total professional SEO experience. You have stayed hands-on throughout your career and can balance doing the work with setting direction, reviewing results, coaching team members, and driving performance.
2. You've owned an SEO roadmap from start to finish, including prioritization, execution, reporting, and iteration, not just executing someone else's plan.
3. You have hands-on experience with AEO and/or GEO and understand how AI is changing search.
4. You have hands-on experience using AirOps or a similar tool in your SEO or content workflow.
5. Technical SEO proficiency: site architecture, crawl optimization,



indexation, Core Web Vitals, and schema markup.
6. Content strategy experience: keyword research, topic clustering, editorial prioritization, and content briefs.
7. Experience managing and developing an SEO team: setting priorities, delegating work, coaching team members, reviewing output, and holding people accountable for results.
8. Data-driven reporting: connect organic performance to business outcomes, explain what the numbers mean, and recommend what to do next.
