About the role
MAS General is looking for a Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric to design, build, and maintain modern data platforms for a US-based client. You’ll own end-to-end data pipelines, from ingestion to analytics-ready models, working closely with analytics, BI, and business teams.
Responsibilities

- Build and maintain Lakehouses and Warehouses on OneLake following a medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold).
- Develop data transformations with PySpark and Spark SQL using Delta tables.
- Model data for analytics and enable Power BI semantic models, including Direct Lake mode.
- Integrate data from multiple sources: SQL databases, APIs, files, SaaS applications, and on-prem systems (via shortcuts, mirroring, or gateways).
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting, and optimize performance and capacity usage.
- Apply CI/CD practices using Fabric Git integration and deployment pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub).
- Ensure data governance, security, and access control (workspace roles, row-level security, Microsoft Purview).
- Document solutions and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
- 3+ year of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric in real projects (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks).
- Strong SQL skills and solid experience with Python / PySpark.
- Experience with the Azure data ecosystem: Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and/or Databricks.
- Solid understanding of data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling) and Delta Lake.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD for data solutions.
