Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced USCIS Immigration Legal Assistant to join a U.S.-based immigration law firm remotely.

The adecuado candidate must have prior hands-on experience working with a U.S. immigration law firm, particularly in preparing USCIS immigration forms, assembling application packages, and supporting attorneys with immigration case management.

This position requires an individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment, manage multiple cases simultaneously, follow established procedures accurately, and maintain consistent communication with the legal team.

This is not an entry-level position. We are specifically seeking candidates with verified U.S. immigration law firm experience and professional fluency in English.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, complete, and review USCIS immigration forms and supporting documentation under attorney supervision.
- Assist with family-based immigration petitions, adjustment of status applications, naturalization applications, and consular processing cases.
- Prepare USCIS application packages, including supporting evidence, basic cover letters, and required documentation using established firm templates.
- Assist with immigration matters involving forms such as I-130, I-485, N-400, and other USCIS applications.
- Organize and maintain immigration case files, documents, and case-tracking systems.
- Track assigned tasks, case progress, and deadlines, ensuring timely completion of work.
- Review USCIS and Department of State resources to verify filing instructions, application fees, filing addresses, and document requirements.
- Communicate professionally with clients in English and Spanish through email and, when authorized, telephone conversations.
- Prepare client correspondence using approved templates and established firm procedures.
- Follow attorney instructions, internal protocols, and quality standards accurately.
- Maintain detailed notes, organized task lists, and accurate case updates.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and urgent assignments while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and sensitive legal documents.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of professional experience working directly with a U.S. immigration law firm in an immigration legal assistant, immigration paralegal, or comparable case-preparation role.

- Demonstrated hands-on experience preparing USCIS forms and assembling immigration application packages.
- Familiarity with U.S. immigration procedures, USCIS documentation requirements, and application processes.
- Fluent English (C1 level or equivalent preferred) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple immigration cases and assignments.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Ability to maintain accurate case notes, task lists, and filing records.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to meet established deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to supervision, feedback, and team instructions.
- Comfortable working in a structured remote environment with regular communication, accountability, and established workflows.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF document management, email, and digital case management tools.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection, a suitable computer, and a professional remote workspace.
- Ability to work full-time during the law firm's designated U.S. business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with Adjustment of Status (Form I-485) applications.
- Experience preparing family-based immigration petitions, including Form I-130.
- Familiarity with naturalization applications and consular processing.
- Experience supporting humanitarian immigration cases, including U visas, VAWA, DACA, or Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS).
- Experience managing multiple active immigration cases within a fast-paced U.S. law firm.
- Experience communicating with U.S.-based attorneys and immigration clients.

Remote Work Requirements

This is a fully remote position with a structured, full-time work schedule aligned with U.S. business hours.

Candidates must be available, responsive, and actively working throughout their assigned shifts. This is not a flexible-hours or project-based position.

Applicants must have reliable internet, appropriate computer equipment, and be comfortable using the firm's approved communication, case-management, and work-monitoring systems.
