Publicis Sapient is seeking a Quality Engineering (QE) Lead to drive robust testing and automation initiatives for a legacy desktop application transformation project within a general client environment.

This role is hands-on and demands deep technical expertise in desktop application testing and automation frameworks, not just web-based testing. The QE Lead will guide a team through modernization while ensuring reliability, scalability, and seamless transition from legacy workflows to stable automated processes.

Your Impact

- Lead and oversee Quality Engineering strategy for legacy desktop applications.
- Define and execute automation strategies specific to desktop environments, integrating new tools where necessary.
- Conduct detailed test case design, automation scripting, and execution for regression, functional, and performance testing.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to align testing frameworks with system architecture and release pipelines.
- Manage defect analysis, triage, and tracking to ensure high product stability.
- Mentor QA engineers and help scale testing capabilities across distributed teams.
- Report testing progress, quality metrics, and automation coverage to project and client stakeholders.
- Participate in discussions to optimize testing approaches during legacy modernization transitions.

Qualifications Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, including leadership of test projects or teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in desktop application testing and automation for legacy systems (not purely web-based).




- Strong knowledge of test automation tools/frameworks for desktop environments such as:
- WinAppDriver, Pywinauto, AutoIt, or Winium
- Familiarity with Selenium, Appium, or hybrid frameworks for cross-platform contexts.

- Proficiency with scripting and development languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#).
- Deep understanding of SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and defect management tooling (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Experience building comprehensive test automation suites for large enterprise systems.
- Strong analysis, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven success guiding teams through legacy modernization efforts.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with fluency in English.
