Description

We are looking for a Spanish Copywriter & Localization Specialist to create, translate, adapt, and proofread marketing content for the Colombian market. The role requires developing engaging, compliant, and culturally relevant content across multiple channels while ensuring accurate financial terminology, regulatory adherence, and consistent brand messaging. The idóneo candidate is a Spanish speaker with strong English skills, experience in marketing localization, and a background in financial services, fintech, or trading.

Main Responsibilities

Create

- Write ad copy, landing pages, emails, push notifications, social posts, video scripts and in-app text in Spanish for Colombia.
- Pitch campaign ideas and headline routes, then cut the winners down to fit Meta, Google, TikTok and in-app character limits.
- When an English idea falls flat in Spanish, write a new one in Spanish. A literal translation of a weak line is still a weak line.

Translate and localize
- Translate CFI’s English content into Spanish, keeping meaning, tone and financial terminology intact.
- Adapt global campaigns for Colombia. Change the examples, references, dates, offers and instruments so the piece fits Colombian traders and shows only products CFI can promote there.
- Apply CFI’s Colombia product and wording rules. Some products CFI offers in other markets can’t appear in Colombian content at all.
- Write Spanish that sounds Colombian,



not a generic “neutral” Spanish or a Spain-Spanish translation, and pick the right register (usted or tú) for each channel.
- Format numbers, currency (COP), dates and times the Colombian way, and check them in the final creative with the design team.
- Own the English/Spanish glossary of trading terms and the Spanish style guide, so a term reads the same in every channel.
- Use translation memory and AI tools where they save time, then rewrite their output until it reads as if it was written in Spanish first.

Get it right
- Proofread every piece before it ships. Numbers, instrument names, dates, links and spelling, plus a line-by-line check that the Spanish says what the English source says.
- Attach the Colombia risk warning to every piece, word for word, exactly as compliance issued it.
- Keep copy about markets and trading. No promised returns, no implied profit, no get-rich angle.
- Send copy through CFI compliance and legal review, act on their comments, and keep version control until sign-off.

Requirements

- Spanish (Colombian Spanish preferred) and professional English, written and spoken.
- 3+ years writing or translating marketing content from English into Spanish, ideally in financial services, fintech or banking.
- A portfolio of Spanish work that includes at least one piece you translated or adapted from English, with the source next to it.
- A working grasp of trading terms in both languages (forex, CFDs, leverage, margin, spreads, pips), or proof you learn technical subjects fast and get them right.
- The proofreading habit of someone who spots a wrong decimal before anyone else does.
- Comfort writing short. Headlines, CTAs and push notifications with hard character limits.
- A degree in translation, linguistics, journalism, marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience.
