Senior ML Engineer, Data Platform

About the Role

Join a product-minded team building a multitenant SaaS platform with data at its core. You’ll design and ship the services behind inventory tracking, order generation, optimization, and forecasting. You’ll take high-level problems and turn them into reliable software through research, critical thinking, and solid engineering practice, with data quality built into everything you ship.

What You’ll Do

- Design, build, and ship Python/FastAPI services for inventory tracking, order generation, optimization, and forecasting.
- Model, tune, and evolve Postgres schemas, including migrations and performance work.
- Take ML models into production: packaging, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- Use Vertex AI for artifact tracking, batch scoring, and online inference.
- Run containerized workloads on AWS and Kubernetes, with CI/CD and observability.
- Build integrations across APIs, flat files, EDI, and database connectors, and handle data modeling and reconciliation.
- Build internal dashboards, alerts, and simple tools with TypeScript and React.
- Apply multitenant SaaS principles: tenant isolation, authentication, and RBAC.

Required Qualifications

- Strong data engineering background plus applied ML experience in production.
- Python and FastAPI for service development.
- SQL and Postgres, including schema design, performance tuning, and migrations.
- TypeScript and React for internal dashboards, alerts, and simple tools.
- AWS proficiency, including containerized workloads on Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability.
- Practical MLOps: model packaging, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.




- Vertex AI experience for artifact tracking, batch scoring, and online inference.
- Multitenant SaaS concepts: tenant isolation, auth, and RBAC.
- Integration patterns across APIs, flat files, EDI, and database connectors.
- Data modeling and reconciliation.
- Product mindset, clear communication, and comfort working across platform, data, ML, and light UI.

Preferred Qualifications

- Forecasting and recommendation for inventory and ordering, including exception and anomaly alerting.
- Event- and queue-based designs for ingestion and orchestration.
- Experience building data QA tools, lineage, and audit trails.
- AWS services such as S3, RDS/Aurora Postgres, ECR, EKS, Lambda/Fargate, Step Functions, and EventBridge.
- Stream processing with Kafka or an equivalent.
- Dashboarding for partners and corporate users, plus some exposure to chat/chatbot features.
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform and strong CI/CD practices.
