Construction Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant

Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours as business needs grow
About the Role
R.J. General Builders, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant to support our bookkeeping, project accounting, and day-to-day administrative operations.
This role is a good fit for someone who understands construction bookkeeping, is comfortable working in QuickBooks Online, and can keep financial records and project documentation organized. The position is remote and requires some overlap with California business hours.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping and Financial Support
- Maintain financial records and perform account and bank reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.
- Track project costs and assist with job costing to help monitor expenses and project performance.




- Prepare invoices, progress billings, and accounts receivable records.
- Review vendor invoices, track accounts payable, and maintain accurate payment records.
- Help monitor cash flow and prepare basic financial reports.

Construction Project Administration
- Organize project files, contracts, invoices, and related documentation in Google Shared Drive.
- Maintain subcontractor records, insurance certificates, licenses, and other compliance documents.
- Assist with scheduling, follow-ups, and routine administrative coordination.
- Document recurring processes and help improve administrative workflows.
- Provide occasional support with basic marketing tasks as needed.

Qualifications
- Experience in bookkeeping, office administration, or project accounting within the construction industry.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and job
