We’re partnering with an early-stage company preparing to launch a product with AI embedded into the user experience. As the company works toward product-market fit, it is growing its AI capabilities and looking for an engineer who can turn evolving ideas into features that solve real customer problems.
About the role
You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, and the existing AI Engineer to build and deliver AI-powered product features.
This is a hands-on role with ownership from experimentation through production. You’ll contribute to technical decisions, help establish practices within a developing AI function, and improve features based on customer feedback and measured performance.
What you’ll do
- Partner with Product and Engineering to identify and prioritize opportunities for AI within the product.
- Prototype, build, and integrate AI capabilities into customer-facing workflows.
- Develop backend services, APIs, integrations, and data workflows that support AI features.
- Evaluate models and technical approaches, balancing output quality, reliability, latency,



and cost.
- Contribute to shared practices for AI evaluation, testing, and production monitoring.
- Improve features based on customer feedback, usage, and performance.
- Make pragmatic architecture decisions that support fast experimentation and future growth.
- Own delivery, documentation, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.

Must have
- Early-stage startup experience: experience helping launch a product and iterating toward product-market fit as customer needs and requirements evolved.
- Production AI experience: experience shipping AI or machine learning capabilities into a customer-facing product, with clear examples of your contribution and results.
- Strong software engineering skills: hands-on Python experience and the ability to build backend services, APIs, and integrations.
- AI evaluation experience: ability to assess and improve output quality, reliability, latency, and cost.
