Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Construction Estimator to take ownership of the entire estimating process for commercial construction projects, from reviewing bid invitations to delivering final, accurate estimates that the team can confidently build from. This is a senior-level role where your attention to detail directly impacts project profitability and success. You will work closely with a junior estimator who handles administrative tasks, while you focus on scope analysis, bid leveling, subcontractor coordination, and finalizing general conditions. You will also play a key role in transitioning the company's estimating workflow into Procore Estimating, helping build a data-rich system that supports smarter bidding decisions.

Client Overview

Our client is an established commercial construction company based in Orlando, Florida, with a significant footprint across the region. They specialize in commercial projects and maintain a robust network of subcontractors and vendors. The company is at a growth stage where they're investing in stronger estimating systems and data-driven decision-making.

Schedule Full-Time ( 40 hours per week) Monday to Friday. 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time

Responsibilities

- Review construction drawings and specifications to identify complete scope coverage and prevent costly gaps
- Finalize bid packages by analyzing subcontractor proposals, leveling bids, and ensuring all scopes are covered
- Plug in general conditions and make informed decisions on pricing based on project management experience
- Coordinate with subcontractors in the database to secure competitive coverage across all trades
- Mentor and guide a junior estimator, helping them grow into more complex estimating responsibilities
- Transition estimating workflows from Excel into Procore Estimating tool,



building out historical data over time
- Leverage AI tools and other technologies to create accurate scope sheets while maintaining final accountability
- Ensure all estimates are thorough, accurate, and reflect realistic project costs before submission

Requirements

- Proven experience as a senior estimator in commercial general contracting
- Strong proficiency with Procore Estimating tool and Procore Bid Board
- Deep understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and scope development
- Experience with bid leveling, subcontractor coordination, and general conditions pricing
- Ability to identify scope gaps and ensure comprehensive coverage across all trades
- Project management background or strong understanding of how estimates translate to field execution
- Excellent attention to detail with a track record of delivering accurate, reliable estimates
- Bonus if you have experience transitioning teams from Excel-based estimating to construction management software
- It helps if you've worked with AI tools for scope sheet creation or estimating support
- Bonus if you have experience mentoring or training junior estimators
