Finance and accounting for Premier Spaces, Dream Habitat (Mortgages), and Top Insured Agency (Trucking Insurance), with operations in the U.S. and Colombia.
Be the Person Who Owns the Numbers
Our companies are growing across two countries. We have trusted accounting firms in New York and in Colombia handling taxes and compliance. What we're missing is the person at the center: someone inside the company who owns the books, delivers clear reports, and makes sure both firms have exactly what they need, on time.
That's you.
You’ll lead day‑to‑day finance for Premier Spaces, Dream Habitat (a mortgage brokerage serving New York and Florida), and Top Insured Agency (which insures the trucking companies that keep America moving). Leadership will rely on your reports to make decisions, and our outside accountants will rely on you to do their best work.
Why This Role Is Different
- You're the finance leader, not a bookkeeper. You'll own the finance function across three companies and report directly to leadership.
- Two countries, one career-defining role. Work with U.S. and Colombian accounting at the same time — a rare combination that makes you extremely valuable.
- Your reports drive decisions. Your P&L;, balance sheet, and cost analysis will guide budget, hiring, and growth decisions every month.
- A clear growth path. As the companies scale, this role can grow into a Finance Director position.
What You'll Do
Books and close
- Keep the books for all entities up to date in QuickBooks Online.
- Reconcile every bank, credit card, and loan account monthly.
- Close each month by a fixed date.
- Manage accounts payable, receivables, and commission income tracking.
Reports for leadership
- Deliver monthly P&L;, balance sheet, and cash flow statements per company and consolidated.
- Calculate the cost of doing business per company and department, including cost per funded loan and cost per bound policy.
- Build budgets and monthly budget‑vs‑vigente reports, and explain the differences in plain language.
Coordination with our accounting firms
- Prepare and send monthly information packages to our New York and Colombian accountants.
- Answer their questions, follow up on their deliverables, and hold them to deadlines.
- Maintain one shared tax and reporting calendar for both countries.
- Prepare year‑end documentation for U.S. and Colombian filings.
Organization and controls
- Maintain an organized digital archive of every invoice, statement, and contract.
- Keep the chart of accounts and processes clean and consistent across entities.
- Flag risks, missing information, and unusual expenses before anyone has to ask.
What You Bring
Must-have skills:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including full month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Working knowledge of U.S. accounting practices (GAAP, 1099s, CPA coordination) and Colombian requirements (NIIF, DIAN, nómina).
- Experience coordinating external accountants, auditors, or tax advisors.
- Multi-entity accounting, including intercompany transactions and consolidation.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets.
- English level C1 preferred, B2 minimum, written and spoken.
Who you are:
- Organized, precise, and proactive: you spot what's missing before anyone asks.
- You meet every deadline, every month.
- You explain numbers clearly to people who aren't accountants.
- You handle confidential information with complete discretion.
Bonus points:
Experience with mortgage brokers, insurance agencies, or commission-based businesses; companies operating in both the U.S. and Colombia; QuickBooks certification; financial modeling.
