Role Description As a Staff Software Engineer at Vericto, you will lead the design and development of core firewall and parsing components, ensuring robust, deterministic handling of SQL across multiple databases and deployment modes. You will architect backend services and proxies, improve performance and reliability, and collaborate closely with product and security teams to extend rule engines, integrations, and developer tooling. Day-to-day, you will review code, mentor other engineers,



establish best practices, and drive technical decisions on topics such as query parsing, infrastructure, and observability. Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems concepts.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, particularly with networked services, APIs, and database-backed applications.
- Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), using one or more modern languages suitable for backend and systems development (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, C#, or similar).
- Experience designing and scaling production systems, with attention to performance, security, and reliability in database or infrastructure-related products.
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL, including query parsing, optimization, or database internals.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
