Role Description

The Teacher role at Colegio Moderno La Florida is a full-time, on-site position based in Tunja, Boyacá. The Teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and educational standards, adapting instruction to diverse learning needs. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, and providing feedback to students and families. The Teacher will create a safe, respectful classroom environment, manage student behavior constructively, and collaborate with colleagues on academic and extracurricular initiatives. Additional duties include participating in professional development, attending school meetings and events,



and contributing to continuous improvement of teaching practices.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong teaching and education skills, with demonstrated experience guiding student learning in a classroom setting.
- Candidates should possess effective lesson planning skills, including the ability to design structured, goal-oriented lessons and adapt plans to different learning styles.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues.
- Candidates should possess training and instructional skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts and support skill development over time.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Education or a related field, valid teaching credentials, and experience at primary or secondary levels are required.
- Additional beneficial skills include classroom management, assessment and evaluation, use of educational technology; proficiency in English is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and uphold inclusive, non-discriminatory practices is essential.
