We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Safety Manager to lead our remote safety and compliance programs. In this role, you will be the cornerstone of our risk management operations, ensuring that all drivers, equipment, and administrative procedures fully comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and heavy haul specialized transport guidelines from an international, outsourced capacity.

Key Responsibilities

- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain complete oversight of FMCSA and DOT regulations, ensuring company-wide adherence to safety mandates, motor carrier laws, and state-specific oversize/overweight (OS/OW) permitting rules.
- Hours of Service (HOS) & ELD Management: Monitor electronic logging devices (ELDs), review daily HOS compliance, audit driver logs to prevent violations, and manage fatigue-risk protocols.
- Driver Qualification & Onboarding: Oversee the qualification process for new drivers, ensuring thorough background checks, MVR reviews, physical examinations, and compliance with drug and alcohol testing programs (clearinghouse management).
- Incident & Accident Management: Lead root-cause investigations for all accidents, injuries, and near-misses, file required DOT reports, implement corrective action plans, and manage insurance claims.
- Safety Training & Communication: Conduct ongoing safety meetings, develop training modules tailored to heavy haul operations (e.g., proper cargo securement, tie-down ratings, bridge laws, and route surveys),

and keep the team updated on regulatory changes.
- Equipment & Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure all heavy haul tractors and trailers meet rigorous safety and inspection standards before dispatch.
- Safety Metrics Tracking: Maintain CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) scores, monitor BASICs, and develop strategies to continuously improve our safety standing.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Industry Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of safety, compliance, or dispatch-support management experience within the US trucking industry, with specific familiarity in heavy haul, specialized flatbed, or oversized freight operations.
- Regulatory Expertise: Deep, working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, DOT compliance, Hours of Service (HOS) rules, and state-level permitting requirements for oversized loads.
- Communication Skills: Fluent and exceptional written and verbal English communication. Must be capable of clearly articulating complex US regulatory guidelines, conducting remote safety meetings, and interacting professionally with US-based drivers, executive management, and external stakeholders.

- Remote Operations Proficiency: Proven experience working in a remote or outsourced environment, with a strong ability to independently manage digital workflows, audit electronic logs across time zones, and communicate effectively via virtual channels.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Fleet Management Software, ELD systems (e.g., Samsara, KeepTruckin/Motive), driver qualification databases (FMCSA Clearinghouse), and cloud administrative tools (Microsoft Office / Google Workspace).
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong attention to detail with the ability to audit data logs, review CSA scores proactively, and build remote safety training protocols without direct on-site supervision.

Compensation

Net Salary: $1,400 per month
