CAE, the worldwide leader in training for civil aviation, is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst with an emphasis on accounting to support our Commercial Aviation Training Centers in Columbia and Mexico.
The Financial Analyst prepares and analyzes financial statements while working closely with the business and Finance leadership to ensure accuracy as well as compliance with local reporting standards and IFRS. They contribute to the overall financial story and develop the forecast and budget for South America training sites.
The Financial Analyst creates and distributes regular reporting to the business and Finance. They maintain financial models and ensure the forecast remains aligned with changing business conditions. The Financial Analyst implements best practices, streamlines processes and enables efficient workflow to ensure timely reporting.
MAIN TASKS :
Create financial statements, reporting and any related variance analysisPartner with Finance leadership to ensure financial reports comply with local standards and IFRSReview monthly, quarterly and annual financial information including execution of the overall financial close processComplete internal and external audit activities to meet deadlinesEnsure all stakeholders receive timely, accurate updates at least monthly to assess performance and proactively steer decisionsDrive process improvement and proactively identify cost reduction opportunitiesAnalyze financial data and maintain financial models to accurately project financial resultsRetain industry and company knowledge to enhance variance explanations and financial reportingEnsure accurate forecasts and clearly documenting assumptionsLeverage historical trends and changes in internal or external factors to project future performanceCollaborate with business partners to ensure forecasts and analysis are relevant and any gaps to financial targets are identifiedChallenge business partners on revenue and cost trends when financial drivers indicate areas of opportunity or potential risksContribute to business process troubleshooting and enhancement initiatives (HFM, Oracle, Hyperion) where appropriatePerform ad hoc projects or analysis to enhance financial performance and better understand business driversAny other tasks or duties as agreed with Finance Manager
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
University degree in accounting, finance or related field requiredCPA license preferredMBA or graduate degree preferredMinimum 4 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field requiredKnowledge of accounting principles, public company financial reporting & practices requiredExcellent analytical skills, conceptual thinking, communication, and interpersonal skillsAble to thrive in an often fast paced and deadline-oriented business requiring development and refinement of processes and proceduresEssential knowledge and experience in Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Enterprise preferredExpert knowledge of Microsoft Applications required (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)Knowledge and experience in Oracle preferred
