Position overview The people families trust most, like a physician, a surgeon or a care team, are often the first to notice when someone needs more support at home. Our Business Development Manager builds and nurtures those relationships across the Phoenix metro area. This role makes sure she never arrives at an office cold.
As our BDR, you will research potential referral partners, start the first conversations by phone, email and LinkedIn, and set up meetings for our Business Development Manager. This is relationship work, not hard selling. The best person for it is curious, warm, organized and tenacious, and always does what they said they would do.
Core responsibilities:
1. Outbound prospecting and meeting setting (the core of the role)
- Make outbound calls to prospective referral partners and set up introductory meetings for the Business Development Manager.
- Research potential partners, identify the right contacts in each office and keep target lists up to date, working from the lists our business operations team provides.
- Start thoughtful conversations through personalized calls, emails and LinkedIn messages.
- Manage the ongoing prospecting and follow-up process, so no partner has to chase us for an update.
2. Explaining Navi clearly and honestly
- Leave partners with four things after every first call: Navi can be trusted, we are never pushy, they have a general idea of what we do, and they know when they will hear from us again.
- Answer general questions about our services using our approved materials, and tell partners plainly when we are not the right fit.
- Escalate anything beyond general service questions, such as clinical details, pricing or specific clients, to the Business Development Manager
3. CRM and pipeline
- Keep every contact,
activity and next step up to date in HubSpot, our daily CRM.
Move partners through our pipeline stages: Prospect, Outreach Initiated, Contact Made, Meeting Scheduled, In Progress (Negotiations), Active Partner and Disengaged.
- Send a weekly pipeline update to the Business Development Manager.
4. Partner inquiries and events
- Serve as the first response for companies that reach out to partner with Navi: vet them, reply professionally and route the right ones to the Business Development Manager.
- Research and vet networking events and conferences (who attends, cost, timing), and handle registration in coordination with the Business Development Manager and marketing.
Requirements
- Excellent spoken and written English. You will be the first impression many offices have of Navi.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in outbound sales, business development, cold calling or relationship-based roles.
- Comfort with outbound calling and the resilience to keep going after a “not right now”.
- Consistent follow-through: when you say you will call back or send something, it happens.
- Strong organization and CRM discipline.
- Integrity and discretion. You will represent our services accurately, make no promises about outcomes, protect client privacy and never offer payment or incentives for referrals.
- Availability during Arizona business hours. Colombia is 2 hours ahead of Arizona.
- Computer literacy and comfort learning new tools quickly.
Nice to have
- 1 to 2 years in a healthcare-related role, or experience in home care, senior living or another referral-based service.
- HubSpot experience. We will train you on our tools.
- Experience using AI tools for research and outreach.
No clinical license is required. You will never be asked to give medical advice, and our nurses are always there for clinical questions.
