Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js.
* Build and manage secure RESTful APIs and system integrations.
* Develop and optimise database structures, queries, and application performance.
* Implement robust authentication, authorisation, and security controls.
* Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance under high transaction volumes.
* Integrate third-party payment services and other fintech solutions.
* Lead backend technical decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
* Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve system reliability.
* Collaborate with product, frontend,



and other engineering teams to deliver business requirements.
* Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical documentation.Requirements* Extensive professional experience in backend development with Node.js.
* Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
* Experience building and maintaining production-grade APIs and distributed systems.
* Strong knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
* Experience with authentication, API security, testing, and performance optimisation.
* Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, version control, and deployment workflows.
* Experience in fintech, payment systems, or other transaction-heavy platforms is an advantage.
* Proven ability to make sound architectural decisions and lead technical delivery.
