About the role

We're looking for a curious, execution-oriented Web Scraping Developer who treats AI tools as a daily productivity multiplier to build faster, debug smarter, and deliver higher-quality work. You'll build and maintain scrapers, parsers, data pipelines, and cloud-ready applications that transform messy web sources into clean, reliable, client-ready data, developing a specialized, in-demand skill set in web data extraction along the way.

What you will do

- Build and maintain scrapers and parsers for websites and APIs, handling pagination, dynamic/JS-rendered pages, and structured extraction.
- Keep collection reliable with proxies, sessions, headers, retries, and error handling; troubleshoot blocks, rate limits, redirects, and inconsistent responses.
- Clean, normalize, and structure extracted data into client-ready outputs.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust ETL pipelines.
- Run scrapers in cloud execution environments and develop scalable, cloud-ready applications for recurring, high-volume collection.
- Monitor and debug scrapers in production; escalate blockers and document scraping logic and source limitations.
- Use AI coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development, debugging, and parsing.




- Collaborate with QA, Data Engineering, and Project Management on data requirements.

Required qualifications

- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python for object-oriented programming (daily usage expected).
- SQL and solid database troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Working knowledge of HTTP fundamentals and HTML/DOM structure, enough to understand how data is extracted from a site.
- A highly productive, self-driven, and curious builder who continuously improves how they work.
- English proficiency at B2 level (written and spoken).

Nice to have

- Experience with web scraping techniques and API-based extraction.
- Familiarity with browser automation tools (Playwright, Selenium) and browser DevTools.
- Exposure to proxies, sessions/cookies, and anti-blocking basics.
- Knowledge of JavaScript (for JS-rendered pages),
- Knowledge of AWS or GCP.
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence principles.

Work conditions

- Modality: 100% remote. Our headquarters are in Bogotá, Colombia, but physical presence is not mandatory.
- Contract: Consulting agreement with indefinite duration.
- Schedule: Flexible, with availability to overlap with Colombia business hours (8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.) for client and team meetings.
- Compensation: Competitive compensation in USD, depending on experience and level demonstrated during the process.
