Freight Brokerage Operations Coordinator (Remote)
Company: Logicstics
Location: Remote | Worldwide
Position Type: Full-Time Independent Contractor
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time
Compensation: Competitive, Based on Experience
Experience Required: Minimum 2 Years in U.S. Freight Brokerage Operations
About Logicstics
Logicstics is an established international logistics company expanding its U.S. domestic freight brokerage division. We're building a nationwide network of independent freight agents supported by a dedicated operations team.
We're looking for an experienced Freight Brokerage Operations Coordinator who understands the U.S. trucking industry and can manage the daily operational tasks that keep freight moving efficiently.
Our freight agents handle customer relationships, quoting, carrier sourcing, rate negotiations, and load booking. Your responsibility will be to support shipments after booking, maintain communication with carriers and drivers, monitor shipment progress, and ensure accurate documentation.
This is not a freight sales position. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience supporting an established U.S. freight brokerage.
Key Responsibilities
Track & Trace
- Monitor active freight shipments from pickup through final delivery.
- Conduct regular check calls with carriers and drivers to confirm shipment status.
- Verify pickup and delivery ETAs and update shipment milestones.
- Identify potential delays, missed appointments, and service failures before they escalate.
- Maintain accurate, real-time shipment updates within our Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Notify freight agents and management promptly of shipment exceptions.
Carrier & Driver Communication
- Communicate directly with U.S. trucking companies, dispatchers, and drivers.
- Confirm carrier dispatch information, driver contact details, and equipment assignments.
- Follow up on pickups, deliveries, delays, and other shipment-related issues.
- Coordinate solutions when carriers are running late or appointments need to be rescheduled.
- Escalate carrier cancellations and other urgent issues to the appropriate team members.
Appointment Scheduling & Shipment Coordination
- Schedule and confirm pickup and delivery appointments with shippers, receivers, and warehouses.
- Verify facility hours, appointment requirements, and special delivery instructions.
- Coordinate appointment changes when shipment schedules are disrupted.
- Maintain accurate appointment and shipment information in our TMS.
Documentation & TMS Management
- Obtain and organize Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proofs of Delivery (PODs), and other shipment documents.
- Follow up with carriers to obtain missing paperwork.
- Ensure shipment records are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
- Update load statuses, appointment information, and delivery confirmations.
- Assist our billing team by ensuring all required shipment documentation is available.
Operational Communication
- Provide timely shipment updates to our independent freight agents.
- Maintain professional communication with carriers, drivers, shipping facilities, and internal team members.
- Document all important shipment communications and exceptions.
- Prioritize urgent issues while managing multiple active shipments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working for or directly supporting a U.S. freight brokerage.
- Strong understanding of U.S. domestic freight transportation, particularly Full Truckload (FTL) and Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) operations.
- Proven experience conducting carrier check calls and monitoring freight shipments.
- Experience scheduling pickup and delivery appointments.
- Familiarity with BOLs, PODs, rate confirmations, and standard U.S. freight documentation.
- Experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Confidence communicating with U.S. carriers, truck drivers, dispatchers, and warehouses by telephone.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Ability to identify shipment problems, communicate proactively, and follow through until issues are resolved.
- Reliable high-speed internet, a suitable computer, and a quiet professional workspace.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time, including seasonal daylight saving time changes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous employment with a U.S. freight brokerage or a company providing outsourced freight brokerage operations.
- Experience managing track and trace for multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Familiarity with MacroPoint, Trucker Tools, or other freight visibility platforms.
- Experience with DAT, Truckstop, or similar transportation technology.
- Knowledge of detention, layovers, TONUs, lumper fees, and other common freight accessorial charges.
- Experience working remotely with U.S.-based transportation teams.
- Familiarity with freight brokerage billing documentation and carrier paperwork requirements.
What We're Looking For
We want someone who understands that successful freight operations require more than simply updating load statuses. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of your assigned shipments.
The adecuado candidate:
- Doesn't wait for someone to ask for a shipment update.
- Follows up consistently with carriers and drivers.
- Recognizes potential service failures early.
- Communicates problems clearly and promptly.
- Keeps the TMS updated without constant supervision.
- Understands the importance of accurate information and timely communication.
You should already understand how a U.S. freight brokerage operates and be comfortable working independently from day one.
