The Role

We are seeking a senior forest engineer to help scale operations across our Latin American portfolio. This role combines forest engineering, forestry design & management, and assist in PDD work.

The senior forest engineer will be responsible for supporting the Head of Operations and local teams to develop, build and manage a high-integrity project portfolio, ensuring rigorous project development standards.

The right person has played a key role and has hands-on experience in building top quality forestry projects.

Key Responsibilities

Operations: Manage the day-to-day forestry operations across 2 countries in LATAM (50-75 annual travel days), translating strategy into planting with clear accountability and performance metrics. Reporting to the Head of Operations.

Project Development & Delivery: Be part of the full lifecycle of ARR project - origination, feasibility, PDD development, nursery design, planting, monitoring, and verification.

Carbon and growth modelling: Produce and assist in producing growth curves and growth modelling for our PDD work.

Project Management: Oversee, advice and manage multiple forestry projects in different countries.

Carbon Project Development:



Oversee and directly contribute to the preparation and review of Project Design Documents (PDDs) under Verra (VCS – VM-0047) and related certification standards (E.g. CCB, CCP, SD Vista, Isometric).

Profile & Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience from ARR projects/forestry with significant results, responsibility and extensive documented on-the-ground experience.
- Demonstrated experience with carbon certification processes, including strong hands-on experience preparing PDDs for Verra (VCS).
- Academic background in Forest Engineering, Forestry
- Proven track record in leading complex forestry projects and delivering large-scale projects with strong project management skills.
- High experience building and monitoring forestry projects.
- High level of autonomy, accountability, and execution discipline.
- A team player that can listen but also be assertive in your area of expertise.
- You find solutions, solve problems and have a high attention to detail

Languages

- Native Spanish and fluent English (required).
