Principal Distributed Systems Engineer at BairesDev

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Distributed Systems Engineer to define and lead the architecture and strategy of distributed systems across the organization. You will oversee large-scale system designs, ensure performance, scalability, and fault tolerance, and guide multiple engineering teams in implementing enterprise-grade solutions. The ideal candidate combines hands-on expertise with strategic vision, influencing organizational practices and driving innovation in distributed systems.

What You'll Do

- Define and lead distributed systems architecture and strategy across the organization.

- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, fault-tolerant enterprise systems.

- Ensure performance, reliability, and resilience of large-scale distributed applications.

- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to align system architectures with business goals.

- Establish best practices, standards, and processes for distributed system design and implementation.





- Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing.

- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance distributed system performance and scalability.

- Influence cross-project and enterprise-wide technical decisions to drive innovation and operational efficiency.

What We Are Looking For

- 10+ years of experience with distributed systems, scalability, and fault-tolerant architectures.

- Strong background in software architecture design.

- Strong understanding of system security.

- In-depth knowledge of memory management and performance optimization.

- Experience in designing and integrating distributed and scalable solutions, particularly in cloud environments.

- Skilled in relational and non-relational databases.

- Ability to choose between different architectures/technologies, understanding the pros and cons of each.

- Expert in managing CI/CD pipelines.

- Advanced level of English.
