Position OverviewThe Technical Configuration Specialist is responsible for the setup, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of merchant production accounts within the payment gateway environment.
This role ensures accurate configuration of payment methods, banking information, currencies, MCC codes, terminals, and account profiles while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and business requirements.
The specialist works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support merchant onboarding, account modifications, and production issue resolution.Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure, maintain, and troubleshoot merchant production accounts and payment gateway settingsSet up merchant profiles according to specific business, banking, and regulatory requirementsConfigure payment methods, acquiring banks, currencies, MCC codes, terminals,



and Alternative Payment Methods (APMs)Manage modifications for existing merchant accounts, including profile updates, additional sub-accounts, and account closuresPerform validation and testing of configurations prior to production deploymentInvestigate and resolve account configuration issues and transaction-related incidentsAnalyze API requests and responses to ensure configuration accuracy and successful transaction processingSupport onboarding projects and production changes for new and existing merchantsCollaborate with Operations, Product, Development, Integration, Risk, and Support teams to resolve technical issuesMaintain documentation and operational procedures related to merchant configurations and payment processingRequirementsTechnical RequirementsPayment & Gateway KnowledgeStrong understanding of payment gateway operations and merchant onboarding processesKnowledge of payment methods including credit cards, debit cards, bank transfers, and Alternative Payment Methods (APMs)Understanding of transaction lifecycles, authorizations, captures, pre-authorizations, settlements, and refundsFamiliarity with 3DS, fraud prevention configurations, and payment routing conceptsTechnical SkillsPostman for API testing, validation, troubleshooting, and automationExperience working with REST APIs and SOAP Web ServicesStrong knowledge of MySQL, including querying, data validation, joins, and troubleshooting configuration-related recordsWorking knowledge of Python for scripting, automation,
